Depression, Chemical Imbalances, and Feminism

摘要: Academic and popular audiences have long thought that a “chemical imbalance” is cause of depression. However, evidence strongly suggests this not the case. Not only there little chemical imbalance causes depression, but isolating depression within biology individuals marginalizes importance psychological social contributions to individuals’ families experience distress. The following review examines history hypothesis then feminist-informed theories more comprehensively explain while avoiding marginalization factors.
