Chemodectomas arising in temporal bone structures

摘要: This is an analysis of 32 patients with chemodectomas arising in temporal bone structures who were evaluated and treated at the University Florida between February 1964 December 1984. The follow-up ranged from 2 to 18 years, 24 (75%) having greater than 5 years follow-up. tumors staged according presence or absence cranial nerve involvement. Twenty-five for de novo lesions as follows: 6 early managed surgery alone, 15 radiotherapy 4 followed by postoperative radiotherapy. Seven seen management recurrent after initial (4 patients) plus (3 elsewhere. All megavoltage equipment doses ranging 4,000 5,000 cGy 170–180 per fraction. disease was controlled all 25 presented lesions. Local failure occurred one seven chemodectomas; this patient previously
