摘要: Male subjects observed a female experimenter suffering apparent physical distress under one of three conditions: (a) alone, (6) in the presence nonreactive confederate supposedly similar to themselves attitudes, or (c) dissimilar confederate. On basis Festinger's social comparison theory, it was predicted that exposed fellow bystander would be less likely intervene help "lady distress" than case when were other. The results strongly supported this prediction. Only 5% condition intervened, compared with an intervention rate 35% other condition. In alone condition, 65% intervened victim.
