摘要: Objectives Spinal cord stimulation of the dorsal root ganglion (DRG-SCS) is a new therapy for treating chronic neuropathic pain. Previous work has demonstrated effectiveness DRG-SCS pain associated with failed back surgery syndrome, complex regional postsurgical pain, and other etiologies through 6 months treatment; this report describes maintenance relief, improvement in mood, quality life 12 months. Materials Methods Subjects intractable and/or lower limbs were implanted an active neurostimulator device. Up to four percutaneous leads placed epidurally near DRGs. Subjects tracked prospectively months. Results Overall, was reduced by 56% at post-implantation, 60% subjects reported greater than 50% their Pain localized back, legs, feet 42%, 62%, 80%, respectively. Measures mood also improved over course study, high levels satisfaction. Importantly, excellent pain–paresthesia overlap reported, remaining stable months. Discussion Despite methodological differences literature, appears be comparable traditional SCS terms relief benefits life. Its may include ability achieve precise concordance, including regions that are typically difficult target SCS, consistently maintain coverage time.
