Electron surfing acceleration in magnetic reconnection

摘要: [1] We discuss that energetic electrons are generated near the X-type magnetic reconnection region due to a surfing acceleration mechanism. In thin plasma sheet polarization electric fields pointing toward neutral induced around boundary between lobe and in association with Hall current. By using particle-in-cell simulation, we demonstrate strongly enhanced an externally driven system, some can be trapped by electrostatic potential well of field. During trapping phase gain their energies from convection/inductive fields. We relativistic MeV quickly utilizing acceleration.
