摘要: Fourteen strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. ATCC 15692, P. 27853, and 12 clinical isolates) were checked for the production pyoverdine pyoverdine-mediated iron uptake. Under restriction, two isolates produced undetectable amounts pyoverdine, but all other a compound with physicochemical properties identical or close to those 15692 (strain PAO1). The pyoverdines purified tested their growth-promoting activity ability facilitate 59Fe uptake in homologous experiments involving each its producing strain, as well heterologous systems strains. results both types suggested existence three specificity groups. This was confirmed by analysis amino acid composition pyoverdines, which differed group. A partially polyclonal antiserum raised against major 80-kilodalton (kDa) iron-regulated outer membrane protein (IROMP) PAO1 recognized 80-kDa IROMPs from belonging same group, whereas groups not detected. second 27853 IROMP gave similar reacting specifically this Thus, together already known PAO1, new species characterized.
