Auto-immunity in Thyroid Disease

摘要: This chapter will discuss the immunological aspects of two clinically disparate disorders thyroid, namely, Graves’ disease and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (and its variants) (see Table 2.1). While clinical expression these may be markedly different, there are many genetic pathogenetic elements which similar if not common to them both, indeed some workers (although this author) consider that conditions merely opposite ends a spectrum same condition (Bastenie Ermans 1972; Fisher Beall 1976).
