摘要: Trypanosomes are protozoan parasites that have a major impact on health. This family diverged very early from the eukaryotic lineage and possesses unique RNA processing mechanisms such as trans-splicing editing. The trypanosome signal recognition particle (SRP) has composition compared with all known SRP complexes, because it contains two molecules, 7SL tRNA-like molecule. interference was utilized to elucidate essentiality of pathway its role in protein translocation Trypanosoma brucei. production double stranded specific for peptide-binding SRP54 induced degradation mRNA loss protein. depletion elicited inhibition growth cytokinesis, suggesting is essential. four peptide-containing proteins examined. Surprisingly, were translocated endoplasmic reticulum properly processed. However, surface EP procyclin, lysosomal p67, flagellar pocket CRAM mislocalized accumulated megavesicles, most likely secondary effect sorting. these under suggests an alternative exists trypanosomes.
