摘要: The temporal patterns of biomass development and production rate (BP) the crustacean zooplankton community in Strait Georgia, British Columbia, Canada, were tracked during spring blooms 2004 2005. BP was estimated directly using a method based on turnover moulting enzyme, chitobiase. relationship between individual chitobiase activity body weight found to be consistent for copepods, decapod larvae mysids. native water column also vary significantly with derived from traditional plankton net tows. In 2004, chitobiase-based estimates generally varied temperature. peak 6.10 mg C m -3 d -1 , corresponding biomass-dominance by calanoid copepod Neocalanus plumchrus. 2005, however, unrelated temperature relatively low (<2 ) early decline phytoplankton bloom. During developing N. plumchrus population collapsed has yet recover.
