摘要: Fragmentation is a keyword in the history of critical urban thought. Yet products fragmentation – fragments themselves tend to receive less attention. In this paper, I develop politics as contribution debates both theory and poverty inequality. examine inadequate broken material on economic margins global South, ask how they become differently politicized cities. three-fold framework for understanding fragments: attending to, generative translation surveying wholes. build these arguments through focus fundamental provision sanitation drawing research Mumbai particular, well Cape Town, connecting those instances poverty, fragmentation.
