摘要: Life cycle assessment (LCA) was used to compare the impacts of two adhesive systems for medium density fiberboard. Adhesives made from a theoretical protein–lignin-composite and petrochemical feedstocks were investigated. The inventory data obtained published literature, site investigations laboratory scale experiments. Ecoindicator 99, single score sustainability impact method applied. Our calculations reveal that bioadhesive composed only bio-based ingredients has 22 % lower life than origin. principal on both manufacture comes use local mineral resources shows considerable decrease (39 %) in environmental scores compared adhesive. Underlying issues LCA methodology are discussed relation potential contribution value proposition ingredient selection emerging bioadhesives.
