摘要: Objective To determine with the use of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) proportion patients semen pattern severe asthenospermia ( Design Transverse sections sperm tail axonemes were quantitatively analyzed, and mean frequency per axoneme doublet microtubules, central pair, outer dynein arms, inner radial spokes determined. Setting Patients being investigated for male infertility at Reproductive Medicine Clinic Monash Medical Centre (Melbourne). Semen samples processed analyzed by TEM in university laboratory. Ten asthenospermic whom repeated analysis demonstrated a percentage motility Main Outcome Measure(s) The main measure was quantitative axonemes. hypothesis that reduction axonemal components causes lowered derived from results. Results Individual significant reductions least three structures when compared normal mean. Statistical grouped data showed all significantly lower than Conclusions consistent strongly suggests deficiencies are cause patients.
