摘要: In many developing and adult tissues, cells communicate with their immediate neighbours to achieve a coordinate response of groups upon external stimuli rapid adaptation the surrounding medium. Such an exchange information can be mediated through cytosolic molecules such as ions, second messengers, small metabolites via intercellular channels called gap junctions which connect adjacent cells. electron microscopical analysis, junction is characterised by close apposition outer leaflets plasma membranes two neighbouring remain separated approximately 2 4nm wide space or gap.
