摘要: The issue of sustaining and scaling up professional development for mathematics teachers raises several fundamental issues researchers. This commentary addresses various definitions sustainability how these may affect the design programs as well research. We consider four papers in this issue. Two describe which were designed from beginning, based on theoretical considerations, to support possibility long-term program. These assess results those specific aspects program aimed influence up. other two are concerned with viewing a distance assessing factors contributed or hindered programs. Based papers, promote impede sustainment examined; include motivation, content, processes. For example, all studies incorporated element collectivity, some processes, both. address question important is Factors beyond such school environment also reviewed. degree necessary up, even necessity system support, suggest that factor depend particular aspect teacher chooses sustain. inter-relationship between discussed throughout. propose view takes into account dynamic environment, where an impact sustained if it continues flourish, can take place desired outcome sustainable.
