摘要: Abstract We have used scanning tunneling microscopy to determine the growth morphology for very thin coverages of perchlorate-doped polypyrrole on highly oriented pyrolytic graphite. For samples with nominal coverage 8–40 A polymer typically grows in widely separated islands. The islands nucleate preferentially or near steps graphite surface and not large planar regions substrate. On a fine scale are found be composed tendrils typical diameter 10–30 A. Regions orientationally ordered ridges also observed these samples.
