摘要: Hepatitis C is a worldwide public health problem and its transmision clearly associated with the parenteral route, however, virus has also been isolated from other body fluids, including saliva, although relationship between HCV oral pathology not understood. The aim of this study was to determine presence HCV-RNA in saliva patients chronic hepatitis. In present investigation 24 patients, attended at Hepatology Department, Clinical Hospital University, Central University Venezuela, infection were evaluated . 5ml unstimulated taken each patient. Saliva detected by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). 29% (7/24) HCV+ showed saliva. study, we observed infected HCV. Further large-scale epidemiological studies are required clarify clinical significance potencial for viral through exposure these fluids.
