摘要: Abstract 1. Brook trout exposed to pH 2·00–3·50 (HCl) showed a considerable decrease in or complete inhibition of O2 consumption prior death. Death from anoxia caused by KCN occurred about the same time as death exposure very low (2·00, HCl). 2. At pH, suffered massive loss Na The rate net was inversely related survival time. A saline medium (150 mM NaCl) had protective effect, prolonging life at 3·25, but not 2·00. 3. toxicity H2SO4 (pH 3·25) less than HCl pH. Acid mine water toxic brook H2SO4. 4. Despite differences solutions HCl, and acid, can be accurately predicted if is known. 5. lethal effect these acids appears due uptake large increase loss.
