摘要: Pediatric varicocele has an overall prevalence of 15%, being more frequent as puberty begins. It can damage testicular function, interfering with Sertoli cell proliferation and hormone secretion, growth spermatogenesis. Proper management a pivotal role for future fertility preservation. The aim this review was to discuss the diagnosis, treatment childhood adolescent from endocrinologic perspective, illustrating current evidence European Society Urology (ESPU), Association (EAU), American Urological (AUA) Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) scientific societies. According ASRM/ESPU/AUA practice committee, is indicated in case decreased volume or sperm abnormalities, while it contraindicated subclinical varicocele. recent EAS/ESPU meta-analysis reports that moderate exists on benefits children adolescents terms concentration increase. No specific phenotype cut-off peak retrograde flow (PRF) indicated. Based evidence, we suggest conservative may be suggested patients PRF 38 cm/s, infertility failure development.
