摘要: In this paper, a spreadsheet modeling is introduced as tool for studying fully distributed real-world engineering problems. The merits of using the are following: its simplicity, very well known to many researchers and engineers; it performs fast calculations; has user-friendly graphic interface; can also provide animated graphs. These engineers scientists with flexible tackle environmental problems quickly performing solution scenarios their A case study been presented illustrate application such models. groundwater level rise in Jeddah city one that facing. reasons leakage from septic tanks, freshwater pipe networks, landscape irrigation, annual rainfall, flash floods eastern wadis, etc. sources have complied regional flow model (the general form partial differential equation steady heterogeneous, unconfined aquifer recharge, evaporation pumping rates, variable bottom elevation), discritized finite difference method, then formulated on spreadsheet, solved built-in macro-solver Excel software. tested compared analytical solution. calibrated observations, correlation coefficient was 0.96 hydraulic head data. results displayed graphically one, two, three dimensions. Various investigated show solutions problem. shown powerful, flexible, Results be transferred GIS software present over satellite images or base maps. Analysis various done efficiently, get quick answers decision makers at preliminary stage project before going sophisticated approach specialized
