摘要: The correlation of long-term trends in the geomagnetic field's strength and polarity stability is re-examined using all available palaeointensity data. Phanerozoic virtual dipole moments decrease systematically with age, whereas Precambrian estimates are comparable to present field. When this modeled by an exponential trend, data from igneous rocks baked sediments indeed found be substantially weaker during middle-late Cenozoic middle Mesozoic intervals frequent reversals than Cretaceous normal Permian reversed superchrons fixed state
