Fertility of HIV-infected women: insights from Demographic and Health Surveys.

摘要: Objective To analyse the data from Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) linking HIV serological fertility, to recommend new age-specific fertility rate (ASFR) ratios of HIV-positive women HIV-negative be used in WHO/UNAIDS estimates. Methods The authors obtained ASFRs ASFR HIV-infected HIV-uninfected 20 DHS surveys collected between 2003 2007. then computed mean median ratios, performed general linear modelling estimate overall ratio for each age group, finally an analysis identify determinants national aged 15–19 years old. Results estimated by regression was highest among old (ASFR 1.20), decreased with 0.76, 0.71, 0.65, 0.59 0.53, respectively every 5-year bracket 20–44 years old). countries were similar results above. suggested that country-specific proportion sexually active could a determinant this group. higher group lower young women. Conclusion This study confirmed previous findings high younger than 20 years old, decreasing those or older, based on nationally representative large number countries. updated assumptions annual epidemic Countries should compute their own 15–19-year-old accounting females.
