摘要: The variability of wind and solar power is perceived as a major obstacle in employing otherwise abundant renewable energy resources. Based on the available geographically dispersed data for WECC U.S. area (excluding Alaska) eastern U.S., we analyze extent to which geographic diversity these resources can offset their variability. set PV sites that best matches load with no transmission limitations determined. For case 50% met by curtailments, geometric model provides convenient measure resource variability, shows synergy between solar.
