摘要: Corticosterone has a biphasic effect on memory formation, short-term effects being facilitating and long-term resulting in cognitive impairments. The of different patterns temporal exposure to corticosterone-previously shown biphasically modulate water maze performance-on glycoprotein synthesis were evaluated four rat brain regions: hippocampus, striatum, frontal cortex hypothalamus. Acute corticosterone administration resulted decreased hippocampus which might be related the steroid. However, sustained subchronic (7 days) or chronic (21 regimen indicated hypothalamus as only region displaying reduced fucosylation after treatment. These findings suggest that detrimental treatment hippocampal neurones not an initial steroid action fucosyl-glycoprotein expression.
