摘要: Abstract Parturient paresis was prevented by feeding a calcium-deficient diet composed of corn silage, ground shelled corn, dried molasses product, urea, and monosodium phosphate. The palatable met energy, protein, phosphorus requirements but supplied only 8g calcium daily per 450kg body weight. Twelve parturitions cows fed this for about 14 days prepartum were compared to 13 similar control diets. Initially, plasma the decreased, homeostatic mechanisms returned normal within 4 days. This sensitized mechanism sufficient prevent parturient in 12 diet.
