摘要: Polymer electronic devices and materials have vast potential for future microsystems could many advantages over conventional inorganic semiconductor based systems, including ease of manufacturing, cost, weight, flexibility, the ability to integrate a wide variety functions on single platform. Starting substrates are relatively inexpensive amenable mass manufacturing methods. This project attempted plant seeds new core competency in polymer electronics at Sandia National Laboratories. As part this effort components devices, ranging from simple resistors infrared sensitive were fabricated characterized. Ink jet printing capabilities established. In addition promising results prototype highlighted directions where investments must be made establish viable competency.
