Control over social interactions: an important reason for young people's use of the Internet and mobile phones for communication?

摘要: This paper reports some research that was undertaken to determine why young people choose use certain communication media, especially the Internet and mobile phones for social purposes. Focus group methodology employed in achieving this aim. Specifically, two focus groups containing aged 18–20 years were asked discuss question "why do you different such as phones, your lives?" Discussions from sessions recorded on audiotapes, then transcribed, analyzed according principles of Grounded Theory. A number categories emerged data.
