Applying GRI reports for the investigation of environmental management practices and company performance in Sweden, China and India

摘要: The relationship between environmental management practices (EMPs) and company performance has recently been debated in literature is of interest for both industrial managers political decision-makers. This paper investigates the EMPs firm manufacturing companies Sweden, China India. With content analysis Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) reports financial sample companies, levels companies' performances were coded. Further statistical assessment was conducted order to identify patterns correlations. results indicate that only selected have employed differently three different countries. Most clearly do not a positive correlation with performance; i.e. employing does necessarily improve economic consequence companies. Nevertheless, number strong improving innovation various It also interesting note negative exists Environmental standard suppliers Sales growth. possibly due increasing operational costs delay market acceptance. research illustrates possibility using data from GRI as resource future studies EMPs. In long-term performance, this study suggests should gain substantial amount attention when are employed.
