摘要: Diagnostics and prognostics in dentistry can be applied to stratify patients according risk for individualized disease forecasting and, ultimately, targeting resources maximize health outcomes. Traditional clinical measures of periodontal show a history tissue destruction but are unable determine biologic onset or initiation inflammation fail predict susceptibility progression disease. The state the art diagnostics is point-of-care (POC) methods (use microbial, protein biomarker, genetic measures). POC may use lab-on-a-chip (LOC) devices analyze oral fluids such as saliva. This technology patient stratification predictive modeling optimize personalized care dental office target healthcare those at highest risk.
