摘要: Abstract The 1939 populations of Shipham, a village in Somerset with high soil-cadmium levels, and nearby control have been followed for 40 years. Death certificates were obtained those who had died, the mortality rates compared England Wales. Small excesses hypertensive, cerebrovascular, genitourinary disease noted Shipham but not village. These conditions associated cadmium toxicity, so it is possible that some influence on pattern Shipham; if so, effect was slight. By contrast, fewer deaths than expected from respiratory cancers observed both villages. This gave rise to all-cause which similar well below national average.
