摘要: Background Ticks are able to transmit, through biting, various viral, parasitic, and bacterial diseases, the best known being Lyme disease due Borrelia burgdorferi . In additions, ticks may also induce allergic reactions. Objective A study of immediate delayed skin reactions undertaken give evidence an IgE-dependent mechanism. Methods Two lumbermen reported having had following bites by ticks. Skin prick tests intradermal were performed with what was most probably Ixodes ricinus extract in one case. Specific IgE whole body wood tick assayed radioimmunoassay. Histologic immunohistologic examinations biopsy, obtained from a pruriginous lesion reaction test, performed. Results One them positive test same extract. Both patients significant levels tick-specific antibody as well elevated serum total levels. revealed lymphocytic dermal perivascular infiltration, CD8+ T lymphocytes Langerhans' cells infiltrates. biopsy place showed presence Conclusion allergy can explain Standardized extracts have be prepared sufficient amounts relevant salivary antigens permit diagnosis serologic patients, especially who
