摘要: Chronic courses of hepatitis E virus (HEV) infections have been described in immunosuppressed patients. We aimed to study the role HEV heart transplant recipients (HTR). 274 HTR were prospectively screened for infection using an anti-HEV-IgG ELISA and HEV-PCR. In addition, 137 patients undergoing cardiac surgery (non-HTR) 537 healthy subjects studied cross-sectionally. The seroprevalence was 11% HTR, 7% non-HTR 2% controls (HTR vs. p 200 IU/L histological or clinical evidence advanced liver disease. three ribavirin treatment successful with a sustained biochemical virological response while failed one cirrhotic patient after dose reduction.
