摘要: Background: Males generally have few options for controlling their fertility and these are far from being satisfactory. There is a great need research to develop more contraceptive modalities males. Objective: The overall aim of this was determine the histological responses testes Sprague-Dawley rats aqueous extract bark Carica papaya using single daily dose 100 mg/kg also investigate if reversible or not.Materials Methods: Sixty mature (6-8 weeks old) male rats, divided into 2 equal groups, were used experiment. Group 1 fed with mg/kg/day 4 8 weeks, while group served as control subjects. Each cauda epididymis exteriorized, incised sperm motility count conducted on expressed fluid. harvested processed examination under light microscope. Phytochemical analysis done ascertain main constituents in extract, LD50 guide administration extract. A subgroup animals allowed recovery period before sacrifice. Results: results showed that 500 (LD50) the produced signs toxicity mortality 50% rats. at caused changes ranging seminiferous tubular distortion outright destruction/degeneration tubules. In addition, testicular interstitia extract-treated disorganization hypocellularity. significant (p<0.05) reduction both motility. no reversal antispermatogenic effects following weeks. Conclusion: Aqueous has deleterious tubules interstitium deserves be further investigated potential agent. Keywords: papaya, testis,
