摘要: Abstract The assessment of temporal and spatial availability food resources is an important prerequisite in developing improved management tools for effective conservation action. It especially useful the avian scavengers inhabiting regions where livestock move on a regular basis (transhumance). Important decisions can be taken theoretical analyses that need to regularly checked. In this case study, we consider models Griffon vulture Gyps fulvus, Egyptian Neophron percnopterus bearded Gypaetus barbatus populations part Spain with one highest densities scavenging birds, traditional farming practices remain. We applied bioinspired Population Dynamic P System (PDP) assess these species' population trends against distribution, quantity carrion food. show asymmetries resources, which are substantially higher summer due transhumant movements. study area, lack winter leads seasonal reduction supplies levels unable meet energetic requirements most abundant species, vulture. Our results suggest regardless active (e.g. supplementary feeding sites) birds’ use other potential not included model, vultures able find alternative more remote areas. importance variations at spatio-temporal scales objective forecasting trends, correct application actions. Because robust assessments applications, discuss advantages limitations ecological modelling scavengers, highlighting transhumance processes transboundary approaches.
