摘要: Further Heos 2 plasma and magnetic field data obtained in the frontside boundary layers of magnetosphere are presented. They reveal that low-latitude extension entry layer is a somewhat different nature. The most pronounced difference with respect to cusp region substantial density jump at magnetopause. Furthermore, tends be thinner less turbulent, flow velocity inside always lower than adjacent magnetosheath. This observation excludes large-scale reconnection front as origin layer. It suggested diffusive magnetosheath and/or heating detached from plasmasphere leads formation appears likely dominantly occurring transient process accompanies eddy convection As consequence, flux being eroded magnetosphere. agreement signature short-term large-amplitude perturbations observed
