摘要: Abstract Polysomnographic signals are usually recorded from patients exhibiting symptoms related to sleep disorders such as obstructive apnea (OSA). Analysis of polysomnographic data allows for the determination type and severity or other sleep-related by a specialist technician. The usual procedure entails an overnight recording several hours long. This paper presents methodology help with screening OSA using 5-min oronasal airway pressure signal emanating during awake period, eschewing need recording. clinical sample consisted total 41 subjects, 20 non-OSA individuals 21 OSA. A analysis technique based on Hilbert–Huang transform was used extract intrinsic oscillatory modes signals. frequency distribution both first mode second their sum were shown differ significantly between subjects patients. An index measure frequencies yielded sensitivity 81.0% (for 95% specificity) detection Two measures relation area maximum 1st 2nd halves histogram 76.2% specificity). Although further tests will be needed test reproducibility these results, proposed seem provide fast method screen patients, thus reducing costs waiting time diagnosis.
