摘要: Human societies are organized into group-based hierarchies, with some groups enjoying the privileges of being on top and others struggling at bottom. The position occupy in hierarchy fundamentally shape their psychology, influencing perception orientation toward status quo perspectives needs conflict. Despite a growing body interventions designed to reduce conflict, role group power shaping effectiveness these approaches remains underappreciated. We first review psychological consequences power. then highlight how overlooking this psychology can result intervention efforts conflict that either ineffective or successfully increase intergroup harmony but do so cost entrenching inequality. conclude recommendations for incorporating insights from research develop help achieve both greater equality.
