摘要: During studies of the pathogenesis dengue shock syndrome, a condition largely confined to childhood and characterized by systemic increase in vascular permeability, we observed that healthy controls, age-matched children with gave high values filtration capacity (K(f)), factor describing permeability. We hypothesized K(f) might be age dependent. Calf was studied 89 Vietnamese subjects aged 5 77 years. The highest youngest [7. 53 (1.96-15.46) K(f)U; median (range); where units K(f), K(f)U=ml.min(-1).100 ml(-1).mmHg(-1)]. Values were 3- 4-fold lower towards end second decade [4.69 (1.91-7.06) K(f)U]. Young mammals are known have larger microvascular surface area per unit volume skeletal muscle than adults. development proportion developing vessels is greater. Moreover, novel microvessels more permeable water plasma proteins when mature. These factors may explain why readily develop hypovolaemic adults haemorrhagic fever other conditions increased
