摘要: The elusive nature of the long-nosed potoroo (Potorous tridactylus) has hindered collection long-term data for this threatened species. Between June 2005 and May 2009, on ecology a wild population potoroos located French Island, Victoria, were collected during series research projects. Over period, 33 individual trapped total 251 times. Up to nine individuals known be alive at once 15-ha study site mature remnant native forest. Adult showed high fidelity significant sexual size dimorphism, with males heavier having longer head pes lengths than females. Congruent other studies, we found no evidence seasonality in breeding. Births occurred every month year testis volume did not vary throughout year. In contrast previous however, observe peaks breeding activity. Our review existing literature suggests that is strongly influenced by local environmental conditions emphasises need consider site-specific when developing management strategies conserve ecologically important
