The effect of race on prospective jurors’ trust in courtroom participants: A research note

摘要: Recent controversial trials have again raised questions about the composition of juries and jury members’ attitudes. This study explores effect a prospective juror's race on amount trust ascribed to major courtroom participants. Based survey individuals eligible for duty, we find that demonstrates an independent levels. African‐American jurors were least likely ascribe prosecution actors (authorities) most defense actors, but these attitudinal positions resulted in essentially neutral position. Hispanics demonstrated levels between African‐Americans Whites. Whites provided greatest difference defense, with lowest scores highest scores.
