摘要: Biofilms serve beneficial purposes in the natural environment and some modulated or engineered biological systems. For example, biofilms are responsible for removal of dissolved particulate contaminants streams waste water treatment plants. water, called mats, frequently determine quality by influencing oxygen content serving as a sink toxic and/or hazardous materials. These mats may play significant role cycling chemical elements. Biofilm reactors also used common fermentation processes, eg, “quick” vinegar process (Characklis Marshall, 1990).
