摘要: Variations in terrestrial water storage affect weather, climate, geophysical phenomena, and life on land, yet observation understanding of are deficient. However, estimates changes soon may be derived from observations Earth's time-dependent gravity field made by NASA's Gravity Recovery Climate Experiment (GRACE). Previous studies have evaluated that concept using modeled soil moisture snow data. This investigation builds upon their results relying rather than results, analyzing groundwater surface variations as well variations, a longer time series. Expected uncertainty GRACE-derived compared to monthly, seasonal, annual estimated Illinois (145,800 km2). Assuming those representative larger regions, detectability is possible given 200,000 km2 or area. Changes typically the largest component followed plus intermediate zone storage.
