摘要: We evaluated the efficacy of three primaquine (PQ) regimes to prevent relapses with Plasmodium vivax through an open-label randomized trial in Loreto, Peru. Vivax monoinfections were treated chloroquine for 3 days and PQ different regimes: 0.5 mg/kg per day 5 (150 mg total), 7 (210 or 0.25 14 total). Biweekly fever assessments bimonthly thick smears taken 210 days. Recurrences after 35 considered relapses. One hundred eighty cases enrolled each group; 90% completed follow-up. There no group-related differences age, sex, parasitemia. Relapse rates similar 7- 14-day (16/156 = 10.3% 22/162 13.6%, P 0.361) higher 5-day group (48/169 28.4%, < 0.001 0.001, respectively). The 7-day regimen used Peru is as efficacious recommended superior treatment
