摘要: THE idea that aggression plays a fundamental role in the development of depression is woven into fabric psychiatric thinking. It half century since Abraham and Freud first suggested was caused by introjection aggressive impulses had originally been directed externally, 1,2 spite dissenting opinions Balint, 3 Bibring, 4 others, their views are still widely accepted. But Freud's hypothesis has fatal flaw. Like psychoanalytic theory general, it formulated intrapsychic terms. Observable change patient's mood or behavior attributed to events which cannot be observed, only inferred on basis same behavioral changes they were adduced explain.
