Cobalt(III) complexes of 2-hydroxyacetophenone N(4)-phenyl semicarbazone containing heterocyclic coligands: syntheses, structure and spectral studies

摘要: Abstract An interesting series of four novel mixed ligand Co(III) complexes 2-hydroxyacetophenone 4-phenyl semicarbazone (H2L), heterocyclic base, B [1,10-phenanthroline (phen), piperidine (pip) and pyrrolidine (pyrr)] azide/thiocyanate (X) with a general formula [CoLBxX] (where x=1 for phen 2 pip pyrr) were prepared. They characterized by variety physico-chemical techniques. All the are diamagnetic indicating that cobalt is in d6 strong field. The tridentate character all cases inferred from IR spectra. structure compound CoLphenN3 solved single crystal X-ray diffraction. It shows crystallizes orthorhombic system, [space group P 21 21, a=10.6590(8) A, b=11.9150(16) c=19.1650(4) Z=4]. coordination geometry around distorted octahedral L2−, bidentate phenanthroline unidentate azido anion. nitrogens hydrogens form intermolecular hydrogen bonds to give sandwich type packing molecule.
