摘要: Despite its entrenchment as a standard of practice, no-suicide contracts fail to achieve their purpose an effective part treatment or method inoculating counselors against potential lawsuits should client commit suicide. Critical elements for managing suicidal clients and counselor liability without reliance on the contract are presented. Therapeutic considerations include evaluating determine (a) no referral hospitalization needed, (b) voluntary hospitalization, (c) involuntary hospitalization.
