摘要: ABstRACtAbrawayaomys ruschii is considered as a rare species due the scarcity of samples in scientific collections and published lists, being difficult to assign it any proposed suprageneric classification among Sigmodontinae. We report here new record A. ruschii, first for this Rio de Janeiro state (Aldeia Sapucai – Terra Indigena do Bracui, Angra dos Reis). Because small sample size not possible define precise geographic range, but known localities Brazil are different ecoregions Atlantic forest. The present specimen was captured secondary forest habitat, near mature karyotype revealed diploid number 58 chromosomes, with 25 pairs acrocentric four biarmed (metacentric submetacentric) chromosomes.
