Childhood reading and writing experiences of literate adults with severe speech and motor impairments

摘要: A retrospective survey was conducted to determine some of the childhood reading and writing experiences shared personal characteristics a group 22 literate adults with congenital severe speech physical impairments. Professionals in augmentative alternative communication (AAC) face-to-face interviews using standard protocol. Descriptive data relative nature individuals home school contexts literacy learning are reported. Results indicate that these grew up environments abundant materials were immersed varied regular print materials. Implications findings respect literature on able-bodied discussed, directions for future research suggested.
