摘要: In the present study, we investigate anti-diabetic effect of pectinase-processed ginseng radix (GINST) in high fat diet-fed ICR mice. The mice were divided into three groups: regular diet group, control group (HFD), and GINST-treated group. To induce hyperglycemia, fed a for 10 weeks, administered with 300 mg/ kg GINST once day 5 weeks. Oral glucose tolerance test revealed that improved after challenge. Compared to HFD fasting blood insulin levels decreased by 57.8% (p<0.05) 30.9% (p<0.01) respectively. With plasma levels, resistance index was reduced 68.1% compared Pancreas preserved morphological integrity islets consequently having more contents. addition, up-regulated phosphorylated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) its target molecule, transporter 4 (GLUT4) expression skeletal muscle. Our results suggest ameliorates hyperglycemia through activation AMPK/ GLUT4 signaling pathway, has therapeutic potential type 2 diabetes.
