摘要: Abstract. The seasonal snow cover and permanent ice in form of Himalayan glaciers provide fresh water to many perineal rivers Himalayas. melt from glaciers, especially during 15 March June acts as important source for drinking, hydropower irrigation requirements areas North India. This work has highlights the use C-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data RISAT-1, Sentinel-1A 1B satellites ALOS-PALSAR-2 PolInSAR glacier dynamics study parts West Himalaya. Glacier velocity was derived using InSAR based method 6 day temporal interval images Sentinel-1 14 PALSAR-2 satellite. High coherence obtained main both sets, which resulted accurate line site (LOS) estimates test glaciers. These results are after a gap 21 years. facies estimated multi-temporal SAR image composition classification. All these maps were verified by extensive ground surveys done at sites 2014–2017. time series VV/VH polarisation also used map basins Bhagirathi Beas River. clearly shows difference between dry wet snow, thus helping improved mapping data. will help refining algorithms be such studies upcoming NASA-ISRO (NISAR) mission.
