摘要: SUMMARY: Chemotaxis of a bacterium such as Escherichia coli is assayed by measuring the number organisms attracted into capillary tube containing an attractant. Rate bacterial accumulation in capillaries and concentration-response curve for l-aspartate taxis are presented interpreted, effect concentration reported. Other parameters assay were studied, volume fluid size opening. The gradient chemical was also described. chemotaxis requires EDTA to allow motility, buffer maintain pH at its optimum near neutrality, l-methionine if it cannot be synthesized. Under certain conditions there stimulation inorganic ions, either K+ or, less effectively, Na+. dependent on temperature, being 20-fold increase bacteria accumulating when temperature raised from 20 30 °C.
